Some programs may not work with Sandboxie if you try to install them directly inside the sandbox. You can run any program that you have installed in Windows inside Sandboxie this also works with portable apps and regular files (that open in other programs). In fact, I would recommend beginners skip the UI and use the tray icon. You don't even need to familiarize yourself with the interface to use the program. In other words, you will learn how to use Sandboxie for browsing securely, downloading files and recovering them, and installing/running programs inside the sandbox. Doing this would fix your problem if your issue is being caused by a corrupted sandbox or a setting you have enabled that is causing the issue.
In other words, do the test with default settings. You can also create a new sandbox, and test the browsers without changing Sandbox settings. Thats really the best way to set this up. I set my everyday browser sandboxes to delete automatically. Many issues (that are really non issues) get fixed by just doing that.
You could also delete sandbox contents manually if you dont have it set to be done autommatically. A simple signature update could cause it, and be fix by another virus signature a day or days later. What you are experiencing could be caused by a AV update. Some have a good history working with SBIE, and some don't. Sometimes antiviruses conflict with SBIE, some work better than others with SBIE. You didn't mention the browser you are using, but most browsers are A OK with Sandboxie. Perhaps try doing a test with a new profile. You could try running the browser without extensions, to see what happens. If you are having an issue browsing, perhaps an extension you are using is conflicting with the browser and/or SBIE. The browsers I use are Firefox, and lately, I have been using Edge more and more. Browsing feels fast, same as unsandboxed. Sandboxie is working very well in Wind19041.450.
